Privacy Policy

Welcome to Home in Bloom. Your privacy matters here, plain and simple, and this page explains exactly what information gets collected when you visit, why, and what choices you have about it. By using this site, you’re agreeing to the practices described below.

Information You Give Me Directly

When you reach out through the Contact page, leave a comment, or sign up for updates, you might share things like your name and email address. This is only ever used to respond to you, send the updates you asked for, or manage comments never sold or handed off to unrelated third parties.

Information Collected Automatically

Like nearly every website, Home in Bloom automatically picks up some technical details when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, pages viewed, time spent on the site, and where you came from. This is aggregated data it helps me understand which posts are actually useful, not identify you personally.

Cookies, in Plain English

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Home in Bloom uses them to:

  • Recognize repeat visitors and remember preferences
  • Understand traffic patterns and popular content
  • Serve ads relevant to your interests

You can disable cookies anytime through your browser settings some features just might not work quite as smoothly without them.

Google AdSense & Advertising

This site runs ads through Google AdSense. Google, along with its partners, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to show ads based on your visits to this site and others across the web. This lets ads reflect your interests rather than being completely random.

You can opt out of personalized ads anytime through Google’s Ads Settings, or learn more at aboutads.info.

Analytics

I use tools like Google Analytics to see how people move through the site, which posts get the most love, and where things could be better. This data is aggregated and doesn’t identify you individually.

Affiliate Links

Some posts include affiliate links, including through the Amazon Associates Program. If you click through and buy something, the retailer’s own tracking applies, and I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Third Party Links

Occasionally you’ll find links to other sites here. Once you click through, that site’s privacy practices apply, not mine worth a quick check before sharing anything there.

Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, you have specific rights over your data, including the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected about you
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of that data
  • Opt out of the sale or targeted use of your data (I don’t sell personal data)
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these, just email me see below.

Children’s Privacy

Home in Bloom isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone in that age group. If you believe a child has shared information here, let me know and I’ll remove it right away.

Data Security

I take reasonable steps to protect the information collected through this site, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. I can’t guarantee absolute protection, and I’d suggest avoiding sensitive info over email.

Changes to This Policy

This page may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in how the site runs or in relevant privacy laws. Updates will be posted here with a new “last updated” date, so it’s worth a glance back now and then.
